QuickBooks Online users can benefit from BigTime and QuickBooks integration just as QuickBooks desktop users do. Getting connected is pain-free. To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to BigTime as a user that has System Administrator access.
Step 2: Navigate to Tools – QuickBooks Data – General Settings and locate the area under the header “Version/ Connectivity” that reads “Authorize BigTime Access”.
Step 3: Click the blue hyperlink that reads “following this link”. A “QuickBooks Online Authorization” page will open in a new
tab on your web browser.
Step 4: Click “Connect to QuickBooks”. The Intuit App Center Login screen will be displayed. Enter the Intuit App Center Administrator login information in this area and click “Sign In”. You will be prompted to select your version of QuickBooks. Click "QuickBooks Online".
Step 5: All QuickBooks Online company files that are created under your account will be displayed. Select the one that you would like to connect to. Click “Authorize”.
When the authorization completes successfully you should receive the following message:
"YOU'RE ALL SET!
Your BigTime system is now connected to the QuickBooks Online file you've selected!
BigTime will now process all of your quickbooks transaction data behind the scenes. Your connection is
complete, so you can simply close this window.
Thanks again for taking the time to get us connected!”

The QuickBooks Online product currently offers a limited range of features when compared to the QuickBooks Desktop product to include the integration access given to any third party application. As of this printing, QuickBooks Online does not permit any integrated application, including BigTime, access to A/R aging information, access to employee address information, or the ability to import expenses from QuickBooks Online to BigTime. Also, vendor bills cannot be posted directly from BigTime to QuickBooks, but can be posted in the form of an expense report. Generally, QuickBooks Online does not display project start and end dates and does not support the transfer of payroll items.
Talk with your sales rep about the specific information you are attempting to share with QuickBooks Online, and they can confirm with the support team (and the QuickBooks online SDK) that the data you need can be transferred/updated in the Online Edition of QuickBooks.
